With motivation, dedication and a sense of responsibility Pragathi Preparatory school took its birth during 1991 in a humble way with a handful of students.
" Pragathi Educational and Cultural trust " was formed in the year 1994 and the school put its first step by starting 1st std. Our commitment, zeal, responsibility and urge to contribute in the field of Education yielded a good response.
We work with a vision of providing knowledge and excellence there by striving hard to build a rewarding future of our students.
Pragathi is an educational family where students and staff work together in a congenial and conducive atmosphere. The school guarantees quality education by preparing the students for a bright productive future. The activities in the school are such that children will gain rich experience. With the backing of generous philanthropists, well wishers and a devoted and dedicated team of teachers, I am sure we will be able to build a school of repute and serve ably in the field of education.

Pragathi has turned 25! This is indeed joyous occasion to all of us. From classic ‘Gurukula’ outlook in Kuvempunagar to sophisticated yet cultural campus in Bogadi today, Pragathi’s journey has been remarkable. School days are the best as most people say. I was lucky to join Pragathi since every moment spent is worth cherishing.
It never felt like a school but more like second home. Yoga, music, bharatanatyam, karate were all made available under one roof. Celebration of national festivals was another element which brought teachers and students together. I still remember those days when Jayashree Madam and Rekha Madam helped writing speeches. One who has travelled with our teachers as part of school excursion can never forget those fun filled times; from visit to Nandini Milk Dairy to overnight trips to Chennai, Hyderabad, Kanyakumari and many more. Each year we waited for that day. This spirit to enjoy and learn at the same time remains same even today. Extremely supportive and caring teachers have always been part of Pragathi; be it school day, sports day celebrations or an excursion. They make sure each and every student gets a chance to participate in the annual day celebrations.
Farewells are hard especially when you love everything about the place. Bondage between students and teachers is so strong at Pragathi that we wished to stay as students forever. I feel elated to boast about my school because it is unique. Any alumni can expect same kind of support and affection they received when they were students, formation of Pragathi Alumni Association is an example for that. Pragathi Utsav, a cultural event conducted by Pragathi Vidya Kendra and Pragathi Alumni Association bring us back to our school.
Today, as we celebrate Pragathi’s 25th birthday, I on behalf of the alumni association wish all students good luck for their future endeavors. I request all outgoing students to join the alumni association and help us do more.
I thank Sri. Venkatesh Sir, Smt. Jayashree Madam and the management for providing me yet another opportunity to look back at photographs from my album and share few memories on this forum. My best wishes to Team Pragathi!

It is matter of pride and my heart fills with immense pleasure as I perceive the progress by Pragathi Vidya Kendra.
If I turn the pages of Pragathi Vidya Kendra I remember the days when the school came into existence with a group of 8 children during 1991 and the journey continued to extend like a strong sapling. The commitment of teachers, support of parents make Pragathi Vidya Kendra stronger day by day and stood firm in ground by having its own building during 2001 at Bogadi 2nd stage, Mysuru. Pragathi Vidya Kendra never looked back and in all spheres it has attained growth and looked forward to satisfy parents and come up to their expectations with commitment and dedication.
It is the mantra of Pragathi Vidya Kendra that every child has the right to avail the opportunty to reach towards his/ her full potentials. It is felt that it is the duty of every teacher to bring out the hidden potential of the child for betterment of Society.
Pragathi Vidya Kendra actively prepares the students for future challenges and builds a solid foundation for students to excel in every field of life.
I congratulate, the teachers, students, parents, trustee members, and all persons concerned with the growth of the institution and look forward for better and bright future. Wishing every one all success in their endeavours.
V. VenkateshIt is an Honor and Privilege for me to be associated with Dedicated and Committed Educators of Pragathi Vidya Kendra. I am very happy to involve myself at this Glorious juncture of silver jubilee celebration year.
This period has been a great journey of learning for me. As they say, “One who dares to teach must never cease to learn”. I have learnt not only from my seniors and colleagues but also from my students and teachers through continuous interactions. I am committed not only to maintain the impeccable image of school but also to carry forward the school to new heights.
The importance of education in life of an individual cannot be overstated. It shapes individuals in their formative years and binds them with values that would govern all their choice of life. It is said:-
“If you are planning for a year, Sow Rice; if you are planning for a decade, Plant Trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, EDUCATE People”. Indeed one can even say that the quality of education will determine the destiny of the nation.
“Success comes to those who work hard and stays with those who do not rest on laurels of the past.”
Aristotle once said that “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” We endeavor constantly to instill moral values and principles in our children. Team work is the hall mark of Pragathi Vidya Kendra. I am sure through collaborative effort we can achieve more benefit to our students who will be future leaders of tomorrow.
Over the years in this school, I have witnessed in our students an unparalleled knowledge base, a vibrant dynamism, an acute consciousness about the world around them, a focused ambition and a sustained commitment. I am also fortunate to have an experienced and committed team, which have brought the school to its present heights. My aim is not only to be an able educator but also to be a friend, philosopher and a guide to students whom they can count on and trust at all times.

Every young heart that climbs the ladder of Education has a longing to grow and express its implicity by the very presence.
I am only a Spark, make me a fire.
I am only an Anthill, make me a Mountain
I am only a Drop, make a fountain
I am only a Feather, make me a Wing.
Ever since the School started in 1991 the entire team of dedicated teachers have been fulfilling the desires of young heart by educating them to become responsible citizens of the Society and to build a better World. “Teachers are the back bone of the School”. I thank and Congratulate our Headmistress, All Staff members, Former Head masters and other Non- teaching Staff, Alumni Teachers who have all contributed in helping the School attaining this level and brought a name to the Institute.
At Pragathi we teach, the way our students learn and understand. They are unique and creative. We never hesitate to look into our deficiencies and we transform ourselves for the needs of the students.
Our Management has made all efforts to be sensitive and compassionate to the needs of people. I feel happy when the students of Pragathi perform remarkably well and shine in their field of interest. We have planned more for the years to come.
I am proud to say that we have excelled in every field that we undertook and we have stood together in facing the challenges in realizing quality Education. The Motto/ Slogan of our School is “Vidya Amara Jyothi” i.e. Knowledge is Eternal radiance. We stand by it and shall see that we spread the light of Knowledge to our best to all the students and serve the Mankind.
On this Occasion I Thank my entire Family, My husband Sri V. Venkatesh who has stood by me at all times. I am proud of my Children Karthik and Kavya for coming over and helping me in all our activities. My heart is filled with Gratitude to God. I Pray God that his blessing showers on all Pragathians forever.

Principal
As I write this letter, my memory goes back to 23 years ago, when I was going with my son Sharath, then a toddler of two and half, to Pragathi for pre nursery class. As a parent, I used to sit with him for a few days until the end of the class. One day in the year2004, .Smt. Jayshri Venktesh, co-founder of the school asked me to join the school as a teacher and take care of my son and other toddlers in the class as well. Thus began my association with Pragathi, first as a parent, then as a teacher and now as headmistress.
Twenty-three years have passed since and Pragathi, during this period, has successfully overcome many a growth pang. From an elementary school with fifty toddlers, today it stands out not just as a school but also as an institution with a strength of 750 students. The student-matrix of Pragathi comprises tiny tots of pre nursery, curious yet naughty kids of primary and inquiring minds of high school. Indeed, this in itself is a no mean achievement.
However, many a time, I have introspected on this success of Pragathi. Is mere increase in strength of students over the years is the true indicator of growth? Alternatively, does the transformation of school from level of pre-nursery to that of High school constitute a measure of accomplishment? Or, the very high percentage of passes in X standard, which students of Pragathi repeat year after year, signify hallmark of success?
No doubt, these are notable and statistically significant stamps of achievement. Perhaps, they aid, in no small measure, as enables for long-term sustainability of the institution.
However, what gives me a sense of satisfaction and happiness is that, Pragathi believes and practices, certain fundamental attributes, i.e., commitment, honor, integrity and devotion in all its pursuits. As a natural corollary, the students, voluntarily rather than by compulsion, imbibe these attributes into their own personality and outlook. Every student of Pragathi is always eager to go beyond the confines of syllabi into other areas of interest like yoga, music, sports, arts and culture and strive to excel in them.
The teachers and staff always focus in realizing the potential of students into natural stream of talents. Towards this, the Management of Pragathi believes in continuous, on the job, training of teachers to improve their skill sets. The latest technological inputs and infrastructure for e learning are at the disposal of teachers. Both teachers and students undergo counseling and motivation sessions with experts to reinforce the core attributes underlying the Philosophy of Pragathi. Dividends out of this practice are obvious, though not in financial terms. Today, there are many engineers, doctors, entrepreneurs, yoga specialists, and management experts in hospitality and other sectors serving with distinction working in India and abroad. They are proud Pragatians bringing laurels to their alma mater. This, in my view, is the true success of Pragathi, which differentiates it from the rest. It is really a proud moment for me that each one of them is in connect with the school and they are part of this silver jubilee function.
